Lemon Not Lime: AI-Powered Recipe Platform
We transformed a Bubble.io MVP with manual recipe entry into a fully AI-driven platform. Users can now upload a photo of a recipe, and AI automatically recognizes ingredients and creates a recipe card, which can be searched, sorted, and shared.
Business Needs
The platform initially had very few users and required slow, manual recipe input. The main goals were to grow the user base by attracting home cooks, increase engagement and retention by making recipe management effortless, and create a competitive advantage through AI-powered automation. Additionally, it was important to improve UX/UI, reduce friction in adding recipes, and encourage social sharing to support organic growth.

We identified three core issues: extremely slow recipe input (20+ minutes), an outdated and unintuitive interface, and low user retention. Our team suggested implementing an AI-powered recipe analyzer capable of extracting data directly from images, paired with a complete UI overhaul to improve navigation, clarity, and speed. We also recommended optimizing backend performance and adding features that encourage social sharing to support accelerated user growth.
